About me

Hi thereA picture of me under a red umbrella

I’m Kate and I’m studying an MSc in user experience design at the University of Brighton. This is my first blog, in which I’ll be talking about my experiences studying UX. It’s divided into sections which correspond to separate modules of my course (web development and interaction design) and most of the content will be assessed by tutors as part of my coursework. I’ve also created a page of references and resources that helped me with the web dev module.

I’m originally from Cornwall but have lived most of my adult life in London and Sydney. Now I’m happy to make my home in Hove while I immerse myself in uni life. After that, who knows? The world is my lobster (or something). Before embarking on this course I worked in marketing for most of my career, for the last decade or so for primarily online businesses. I’m excited to see where this course will take me, but so far I’m enjoying the ride.

In my final semester I’ve been lucky enough to get a placement at Clearleft, the world-famous user-centred design agency, which you can read about in the major project section.

If you’ve found your way here then I hope that you find my blog interesting. If you’re marking me on an assignment, may I say how great you look today? That haircut really suits you 😉

Cheers,

Kate x
